TV (UHF) Aerials
TV aerial requirements, vary according to:
- The reception area you are in.
- The transmitter you are receiving.
- The amount of aerial points you are using.
- If you have anything blocking the reception i.e. trees, building cranes etc.
There is never only one solution to an aerial problem and very often it can be
the implementation of a few different techniques which give you the reception
you require.
This is why it is important to use a company that have a local knowledge of
your area and it's differing problems and the experience and knowledge to come
up with a cost effective solution quickly and efficiently. All of our engineers
have at least 6 years experience!
Digital is definitely the new era of media.
It enables you to be able to have far more choice and it won't be long before
all aerials need to be compatible with this format, or you want be able to
watch TV!
This is why Aerials and Satellites Ltd have only been installing aerials
compatible with this format for the past 4 years!
So, as best as possible, it is a good idea to allow for this.
Radio Aerials
The main aerials that most people are interested in are FM aerials, which are
for stereo radio reception. The days when you could just have a bit of wire in
the back of the stereo, or a coat hanger are all but gone.
This is because the quality of even a cheap hifi system nowadays is very good,
compared to 20 years ago. That means that if the reception is not good, you are
more likely to hear it through your speakers!
There is a solution:
To have an FM aerial fitted outside, preferably on the chimney stack. This will
improve your reception immeasurably, ending those frustrating hisses and knocks
you hear when you sit down to listen to your favourite radio station.
There are lots of different options for FM aerials, depending on where you live
with the immediate obstructions you may be experiencing and how close you are
to your local FM transmitter. It is also possible to add the FM signal 'into'
the TV signal if your hifi is close to your television, using a TV/FM socket at
the bottom.
This is often a much neater option. We are more than happy to give you a free
estimate, completely without obligation, to discuss with you the best options.
